Xavier Zwiller on the FAG Control 839 ‹I bought this press in 2013 from some passionated typographers in a close region from Auvergne (FR). These people had problems to install the press in their studio so it lay dismantled in storage. I hired a transporter and it took me quite some time to properly install the press and get it working. Now it is a real pleasure to print some posters on it!›

About edition carpe plumbum
Carpe Plumbum is a workshop for letterpress and relief printing, located in the “Spinnerei” in Leipzig – a former Cotton factory that now hosts artists, designers and galleries. In the workshop hundreds of typecases and several presses (from 3 FAG proof presses to the 70x100cm “Präsident” Cylinder press) offer varied possibilities for printwork. I work together with artists and designers, printing cards and small editions, as well as larger editions such as posters and books; for example all the original graphic LUBOK books are printed here. MASCHINENRAUM is the relief print studio by the artists Claas Gutsche and Philipp Hennevogl. We founded Maschienenraum in the beginning of 2012. Our goal was to set up a professional relief print workshop, which suits perfect our artistic needs.
